Grand Illusion Private Charters
Half day charters: 6 pm. - 10 p.m. (home port to home port)
$600.00 U.S.
Includes captain, mate, 2 deck hands, fuel, ice, all fishing / snorkeling gear.
Full day charters: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. (home port to home port)
$1000.00 U.S.
Includes captain, mate, 2 deck hands, fuel, ice, all fishing / snorkeling gear.
Multi day charters: 48 hours, 72 hours, etc. (home port to home port) $1,500.00 U.S. per 24 hour day - partial days prorated.
Includes: Captain, mate, 2 deck hands, fuel (Venezuela), ice, all fishing / snorkeling equipment, all tenders small boats and beach camp equipment.
Pre - launch introductory offer for private charters:
We are currently offering private charters at a 50% discount on the above rates.
All payments, received for these charters, will be held in an escrow account. These funds will not be released to us, until such time, as the administrator of the account, is satisfied that sufficient funds have been secured (by whatever means) to ensure the successfull outfitting and commissioning of Grand Illusion.
We expect that, no later than Feb 15 2008, sufficient funds will have been secured, to enable us to go ahead with the outfitting and commissioning of Grand Illusion. If, by July 15 2008, sufficient funds have not been secured, all payments received, together with accrued interest, shall be made available to the purchasers.
Payments may be applied to either half day charters, full day charters, multi day charters, or any combination of the above. All payments remain valid indefinitely. Reservations for charters may be made (or changed) at any time after payment - up to 4 weeks before the requested time slot.
Cancellations, from 4 to 2 weeks prior to sailing date, will incur a 25% penalty. Cancellations, within 2 weeks of sailing date, will incur a 50% penalty. The resolution of any conflict in regard to requested time slots will be based on when the initial payment was submitted. (The early bird get's the worm)
The following time slots are earmarked for our scheduled cruises and are therefore not available for private charters in 2008:

Naturally, the clients for our private charters may choose from a virtually unlimited variety of options. However, in light of our gegraphic location, full day and half day charters are probably best focussed on fishing.
Multi day charters are of course wide open in terms of possibilities. Within reason, Grand Illusion can pick up the clients anywhere they choose, take them wherever they choose, to participate in any activities they choose, and leave them wherever they choose.
In light of the above, it should be noted that our home base is about 120 miles (or about a 6 -9 hour run) from Trinidad, Grenada, and Los Roques - depending on wind & sea conditions. Of particular interest, perhaps, is that the run from Trinidad to Margarita is all downwind and along a very scenic coastline. For "Trinis" especially, including this run in one's plans may be an option worth considering.
